In addition to the discussion surrounding public funding in the Netherlands, this year put another topic on the funding agenda – how to tackle the private sponsorship of academic activities. The interdisciplinary area of law and technology seems to attract a new wave of questions: should tech companies fund academic events like the Amsterdam Privacy Conference? Should they even participate to such events? And if not, then what is the future of valorisation?
